In Vegas you’re spoilt for choice, it’s easier to say what not to do, than to try and pick the top five things that you should do…so this is my best effort…
If you’re looking for things to do in Vegas, you should check out these top 5 recommendations.
The Hoover Dam
The eponymously named Hoover Dam is an unmissable visit if you’re planning a trip to Vegas. You’ll not regret getting a tour round one of the 7 man-made wonders of the world.
An integral part of the experience…your Dam guides will furnish you with all the facts to educate you on the intricacies of how and why the dam was built and how much the bright lights of Vegas depend on this mega structure to hold back the great canyon waters. It all began here and without the Hoover dam there would be no Vegas with the abundance of cheap electricity it affords for this unlikely desert city. You can fly or hire a private taxi to take you there and if you’re pushing the boat out, you’d be mad not to take in the Grand Canyon Tour while you’re there.
The Grand Canyon
If you’re remotely interested in geography, and anyone who travels couldn’t fail to be, then you can’t visit Vegas without making a personal pilgrimage to pay homage to a very special natural wonder that is the Grand Canyon.
You’ll be held in awe and amazement by the vastness and sheer beauty of this natural wonder that Native American Havasupai peoples have held sacred for thousands of years. You can even take a sky walk out onto the enclosed horseshoe glass walkway right over the south rim of the canyon if you’ve got the head for heights.
If you’ve never been to Vegas and never gambled the night, now is your chance to have a go! With slot machines galore, take a cupful of nickels and dimes and test your luck.
Caesar’s palace mantra “have a lucky day” may well come true if you pit your wits against the black jack table or play Russian roulette. If you’re a gambling virgin, you can book free lessons throughout the day via the hotel’s concierge at any of the Strip’s casinos.
Madame Tussauds Las Vegas
Step into a museum of the stars in Madame Tussauds Vegas, this is one cool experience, literally, and a welcome change from the heat of the Vegas Strip. Wander at will around exquisite exhibits such as the Viva Vegas display and you’ll get to hang round with superstars as diverse as Jessica Simpson, Tupac Shakur and Neil Sedaka.
Whatever your era, age or interest, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas has much to offer. Get photos with all your favourite stars and pretend to be a guest on the Jerry Springer show, your memories will be the envy of your family and friends. If your interest is more historical, stand next to greats like George Washington or famous self-styled celebrity Ivana Trump.
If you’re in love and impulsive, you’ve come to the right place. Vegas is the place for anyone who wants to tie the knot. Here, they’re experts at it, and every theme under the sun is available for your wedding.
Never mind the Little White Chapel of Love and a Vegas White Wedding with Elvis in tow singing “have I told you lately”…you’ll enjoy the full wedding service from wedding planners who’ve trod this well-trodden path before. Just be sure that you’ve picked the right bride or groom to spend the rest of your life with, or your Vegas wedding cake might last longer than your nuptials!
